StudyPilot AI

Assignment & Project Planner for Students

Concept for 2026
Planning Phase
Planned

Overview

StudyPilot AI is a concept I developed after seeing students struggle with long, complex assignment briefs and multi-week projects. The platform would use AI to help students understand requirements, create realistic timelines, and build study habits—without doing the work for them. It's about learning to plan and manage projects, not shortcuts.

Key Features

Assignment Brief Parser

Upload assignment PDFs or paste requirements, and the AI extracts key tasks, deadlines, requirements, and grading rubrics automatically.

Smart Task Breakdown

AI analyzes the assignment and suggests logical task breakdowns with estimated time requirements based on assignment complexity.

Personalized Timeline

Generate realistic study schedules based on your deadlines, available study time, and other commitments tracked in the app.

Daily Study Plans

Get daily tasks with time blocks, priority levels, and progress tracking to stay on track without overwhelming your schedule.

Progress Tracking

Mark tasks complete, log study sessions, and visualize your progress with motivating charts and streak tracking.

Study Resources

AI suggests relevant learning resources, research tips, and study techniques based on your assignment topics and learning style.

Challenges & Solutions

  • 1Parsing diverse assignment formats (PDFs, Word docs, text) with varying structures and clarity
  • 2Creating realistic time estimates that account for individual student capabilities and learning styles
  • 3Balancing AI assistance with student agency—helping without enabling academic dishonesty
  • 4Designing an interface that motivates without adding stress or complexity to student life

What This Project Will Teach Me (Planned)

  • Doing user research with students to understand study planning pain points and existing workflows
  • Designing AI prompts that extract structured data from messy assignment documents
  • Building scheduling logic that respects real-world constraints like part-time work and family responsibilities
  • Thinking carefully about ethical boundaries in educational AI tools – how to support learning without enabling shortcuts
